COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec. 17, 2009) – This season’s NJCAA football rushing leader and a top tackler have been selected as the 2009 NJCAA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. Fort Scott Community College (Kan.) sophomore running back Jasmin Hopkins (pictured) has been awarded the offensive honors, while Navarro College (Texas) linebacker Brad Graham receives the defensive award.   Full Story

Corvell Harrison was the talk of Northeast Jones High School today after he accepted an offer to play in the SEC. Earlier this evening the talented defender was the subject of a TV news report informing the Mississippi Pinebelt of his decision to attend Mississippi State. Davidell Collins of Bearden, Ark., visited Oklahoma State on an unofficial earlier thiis month and then received an offer from the Cowboys after Joe Wickline and Bill Young watched him help Bearden to a big playoff win. Offensive tackle/defensive end Davidell Collins of Bearden, Ark., said he was really nervous last Friday night as he and his Bearden teammates disposed of second-round opponent Mineral Springs 51-0. The 6-6, 254-pound Collins was nervous because two of the spectators were Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Bill Young and Cowboys co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Joe Wickline.   Full Story

The coaches have a lot of experience,” he said about the Gamecocks staff. “They know what they are doing. They are also fun to be around and have a good sense of humor.
