Hoops Adds Transfer
“I really like the fact that I can sit out a year, work on my game and my academics,’’ said Carter. “I had a lot of top Division 2 schools offering me because I could come in and play now, but I wanted to sit a year and get things in order.”
Carter had a standout season at Lake Land (Ill.) Community College as a freshman, averaging 17.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3 assists per game. He shot 75 percent from the free throw line and 40 percent on field goals, 34 percent on 3-pointers.
After that season he signed with Kent State. He averaged 7.2 minutes per game and 2 points in 13 games.
“It was just not a good fit for me,” he said.
Carter said the Red Wolves want him to play the 2 or 3 spot, but he has also played the point at times. A spot came open for Carter after Mookie Sturdivant was declared ineligible
