ASTATE Birthdate - Koby McKinnon - May 10

Posted May 10, 2013

Koby McKinnon came to ASU from Junction City, about as far as you can get from the campus and remain in the state.

McKinnon was a high school standout. He did everything for the Junction City Dragons, playing tight end, safety, and punting. Earning team MVP and All-State honors.

At ASU, he did not play as many positions, but he did play linebacker awfully well.

Playing special teams as a true freshman, he moved into a starting spot as a sophomore after switching from safety to linebacker.

His junior season he was second team all-conference. His senior season he was on the Butkus Award watch list adn made 101 tackles, again earning second-team all-league honors. McKinnon finished his career as the Sun Belt's No. 2 all-time leader in interception return yards with 236.
