One of Arkansas top prep athletes continues to draw college coaches attention across the nation.

Current Arkansas State commitment and Greenwood High School star athlete Drew Morgan is hearing from a couple of SEC schools and picked up a new offer recently from perhaps the most unlikely school that an Arkansas Athlete could receive one from.

Morgan's Greenwood HS team is currently 9-0 and the standout athlete is one of the big reasons why.

"Right now I'm just focusing on being the best high school player I can be," Morgan told AStateNation Tuesday. "I want to finish out my senior season with something that I can cherish forever."

While Morgan, who committed to Arkansas State this summer, has only two official offers, the talented runner and pass catcher is hearing from several schools, including LSU and Arkansas. He picked up his most recent offer from Georgetown.

"I'm not really sure to count that Georgetown offer or not," laughed Morgan. "I'm sure they have a great school, I was just really surprised to get an offer from them. I didn't expect it at all."

Many of Morgan's friends, including current Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson would love for him to attend school close to home in Fayetteville, it's a subject that Morgan has discussed with the Hog's signal caller.

"A lot of my friends want me to play with Tyler," Morgan said. "I tell them that he will be gone by the time I get there. Tyler told me that it was Gus Malzahn that played a big role in him becoming a Razorback. Malzahn recruited him when he was at Arkansas, then when he moved to Tulsa, Tyler committed to Tulsa but ended up going to Arkansas."

The thought of playing in the SEC is definitely intriguing to Morgan, but it appears that he feels good about his current decision to be a Red Wolf.

"I'm pretty set in stone with Arkansas State," Morgan said. "If I get some offers from the SEC schools, it would definitely put things into perspective. I would have to consider how stable the Arkansas State program is compared to how things are in Fayetteville. It is SEC Football, I will have fans either way, I want to make a name for myself and I can see myself doing that at Arkansas State."

Morgan has built a solid relationship with Malzahn and enjoys his visits with the offensive minded coach.

"We talking at least once a week or so," Morgan said. "He called me Saturday night and we talked about how great the Notre Dame and Oklahoma game was. You can talk to him about anything, he is the type of coach that likes to build a relationship with his players."

Morgan got the chance to take in the Memphis and South Alabama games in person and was glued to his television for the Red Wolves big Tuesday night game against ULL last week.

"They really showed up ready to play," Morgan said. "I was very proud of them. It was awesome to watch, it's going to be a very fun offense to play in."

Morgan currently has 52 receptions for over 700 yards and over 367 rushing. He has an impressive touchdown total of 17 scores.
