Arkansas State’s defense didn’t fare so well in the first half against Oregon, giving up 50 points to the No. 5 ranked Oregon Ducks.
In the second half it was a different story, as Arkansas State responded and played well, considering that the Ducks are one of the fastest teams that the Red Wolves will face all season.
The Red Wolves defense racked up one sack on the night, six tackles for losses and one interception.
Senior Linebacker Nathan Herrold led the team in tackles with 6 solo tackles and five assisted tackles for a total of 11 tackles for the game.
He was followed by Qushuan Lee with six solo tackles and one assisted for seven tackles.
Starting corner Andrew Tyron finished the game with six solo tackles.
Senior safety Cole Lorigan finished the game with five solo tackles
Starting defensive end and senior Tim Starson finished the contest with four solo tackles, one assisted for a total of five.
Free safety Sterling Young also finished the night with five tackles as well as junior transfer Eddie Porter.
Don Jones, Nick Nelms and Ryan Carrethers each had four tackles
Tausean Holmes, Chaz Scales, Markel Owens and Chris Stone had three tackles
Jonathan Victorian, Dexter Blackmon, Chris Humes, Ronnell Wright, Shervarius Jackson and Kyle Coleman finished with two tackles.
David Oku, Amos Draper, John Gandy and Charleston Girley finished the contest with one tackle a piece.

Goes to senior linebacker Nathan Herrold. The talented defender was in on a lot of the action for ASU most of the night. His senior leadership showed in the second half of play.
