Arkansas State University’s recruiting momentum continues to spiral upwards with Coach Gus Malzahn and his coaching staff, as the Red Wolves picked up commitment No. 11 Monday afternoon.
Missouri athlete Jonah Hill from Hillcrest HS in Springfield took an unofficial visit to Jonesboro and came away with a very high impression of the place. That visit helped lead him to his recent decision.
“I decided last night I knew that Arkansas State was the school for me,” Hill told AStateNation.com. “The thing that stands out the most to me has to be how great their coaching staff is. Everyone of them are very knowledgable and it really has a special feel to it there at ASU.”
Hill currently has two D1 offers from Arkansas State and Wyoming, but has seen his interest increase a lot recently.
“Kansas State, Missouri, and Nebraska told me that might offer me in the fall,” Hill said. “After my visit to Arkansas State, it just felt right for me.”
Hill currently weighs in at 6-foot-4 and 240-pounds. According to Hill, his decision made several men’s day.
“Coach Malzahn told me that I made his day,” Hill said. “He welcomed me to his family and told me that we were going to do special things at Arkansas State.”
According to Hill, he received high praise from the veteran coach.
“Coach Malzahn told me that he looked forward to having one of the best versatile H-Backs in the country,” Hill said. “That’s a huge compliment coming from a guy like Gus Malzahn.”
