Arkansas State continues to impress on the recruiting front when former Cincinnati commitment Marquez Lanton from Memphis Academy of Health and Science HS decided to become a Red Wolf Monday afternoon.

"Yes sir, I'm very excited about being a Red Wolf," Lanton told AStateNation.com. "I want to stay closer to home, ASU had a good program and I really wanted to play for Gus Malzahn."

According to Lanton, it was his great performance at the Arkansas State Camp earlier last month that landed him on the Red Wolves radar.

"They told me that I was one of the better wide receivers there," Lanton said. "I ran a 4.3 at the Ole Miss camp and a 4.45 at the Arkansas State camp."

According to Lanton he has offers from Arkansas State, MTSU, Cincinnati, Memphis and Mississippi State.

"The chance to get to play for Gus Malzahn was too much to pass up," Lanton said. "He is going to do great things at Arkansas State."

Lanton is a 6-foot-2, 175 pound athlete that is expected to play wide receiver at ASU.
