One Florida athlete has 27 offers and is currently committed to one of the in-state schools, but that hasn’t stopped Gus Malzahn and his coaching staff to aggressively recruit the standout defender.
Four star defensive tackle Keith Bryant committed to Miami in January but made it quite clear that he is willing to listen to other coaches.
It appears that Arkansas State’s Malzahn isn’t bashful about showing his interest in Bryant.
“Arkansas State is really recruiting me as hard as any school out there,” Bryant said. “I don’t know a lot about ASU other than all of the stuff I’m seeing on the internet about them. I have been watching a lot of You Tube Videos, there seems to be a lot of excitement surrounding the program.”
Bryant, a 6-foot-2, 295 defensive tackle for Del Ray Beach Atlantic High School, is ranked as a four star prospect by Scout.com and is rated as the No. 25 DT in the nation.
While Bryant is committed to Miami, he does plan on taking five official visits this fall.
“I will definitely consider taking a visit to Arkansas State,” Bryant said. “I know that Coach Malzahn won a National Championship at Auburn and that he is building something special at Arkansas State. I know they were 10-3 last fall.”
Another reason that ASU is intriguing to Bryant is the fact that the Red Wolves recently offered his best friend and teammate Tevin Spells.
“That’s Tevin’s only offer so far,” Bryant said. “We are very close friends, it would be great to play at the next level with him. I can’t tell you how excited he was when ASU offered him. I plan on going up to Arkansas State with him and get to know their coaching staff better. They told me how much they loved me on film and I was the type player that could be a difference maker for them.”
Bryant currently has offers from Miami, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Auburn and USC to name a few.
