Arkansas State picks up another big commitment from Texas earlier this week.
AStateNation, the authority in Breaking News for Arkansas State Athletics, confirmed with Arlington Sequin High School Coach Bobby Thigpen that Kelvin Downs was definitely a Red Wolf.
"Kelvin really loved it up there on his visit," Thigpen told AStateNation.com. "He really liked John Brady and his coaching staff, he felt like he fit in there very well."
According to Thigpen, Downs' upside and potential is unlimited.
"He is a good player," Coach Thigpen said. "He has a bright future ahead of him. He had a great summer and is currently having a great fall. I'm hoping he ends up averaging 16 points and 16 rebounds a game for us, he is definitely capable of that."
Downs, a 6-foot-8, 245-pound athlete, took an official visit to Jonesboro this past weekend.
"He hasn't stopped talking about his visit," Thigpen said. "He really connected with their coaching staff."
