Memphis University School's center Nick Vergos confirmed with AStateNation that he indeed has an offer and interest in the Arkansas State Football program.
"I got my first offer a couple of weeks ago from Arkansas State," Vergos said. "I was very excited to get that first offer."
Vergos attended Memphis vs. Arkansas State game two weeks ago and came away very impressed with the direction of Red Wolf Football.
"I was very impressed with Arkansas State's game plan," Vergos said. "I loved the way they took it to Memphis. You can tell the ASU program is headed in the right direction. They let up on Memphis early in the third or it would have been a lot worse than 47-3."
Vergos was impressed with attendance at Arkansas State and compared it with his hometown university.
"There were 30,000 fans at the game," Vergos said. "If that game would have been at Memphis there would have only been 10,000 there and most of them Red Wolf fans."
Vergos loves the high tempo of the Red Wolves offense.
"I love the high tempo," Vergos said. "Coach Freeze is a great offensive coach."
Vergos felt very at home at the ASU game in Jonesboro.
"I really like Coach Freeze a lot," Vergos said. "Coach (Maurice) Harris and Coach (Darren) Hiller are great guys, they really made me feel welcomed and at home."
Vergos plans on waiting until his senior season is over before making a final decision in recruiting.
Vergos is a 6-foot-5, 270-pound offensive lineman.
