One Memphis area high school basketball player grew up around sports all of his life.
It's not very often a senior prospect is as well known at Briarcrest basketball player Sean Tuohy Jr. or better known as S.J.
S.J. is a name that most of you probably familiar with. He is Michael Oher's younger brother in the movie the "Blindside" and in real life.
Tuohy is also a very good point guard/shooting guard for his high school basketball team. Sean Touhy Sr, S.J.'s father was a standout basketball player at Ole Miss.
AStateNation.com caught up with S. J. this week to get his take on how his recruitment is going.
"It's going great," Tuohy said. "I currently have two offers, one from Louisiana Tech and one from a smaller school, there are a lot of schools starting to look at me."
One of those schools is Arkansas State University.
"Arkansas State has recently showed a lot of interest in me," Tuohy said. "Hugh Freeze is a deal friend of our family and he one of my favorite coaches."
Tuohy, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete, plays point guard and shooting guard for Briarcrest. He averaged 6.5 points a game last year and 6 assist per game on a team that has three major D1 athletes as his teammates.
"I led the city of Memphis in assist last season with 137," Tuohy said. "Our team is loaded with guys that are being recruited at big schools."
Does Tuohy have interest in Arkansas State?
"Yes I do," Tuohy said. "I love the fact it is close to home. I really like Coach John Brady and with Coach Freeze being on campus it would be a great fit for me."
Tuohy has grown up a big Ole Miss fan all his life and has even thought about perhaps walking on for the Rebels.
"There are only a few schools that could sway me from going to Ole Miss," Tuohy said. "Arkansas State is one of those schools. I hope to hear from their coaching staff, it would be great to get an offer."
S.J. plans on taking an unofficial visit to the Arkansas State Campus for the ASU vs Central Arkansas home game.
