Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee State will play each other on the football field in the Sun Belt Conference.

It appears that both schools are after the same Alabama high school prospect. Hewitt-Trussville High School defensive end John Youngblood received his first two calls Thursday morning from those two schools.

"Middle Tennessee called me and woke me up at 6:45 a.m.," Youngblood told AStateNation.com. "Arkansas State called me next at 7:00 a.m., at least I was awake for that one."

Youngblood was excited to get the call from Red Wolf Assistant Coach Tyler Siskey.

"Coach told me that I was the first player in Alabama that they called this morning," Youngblood said. "That's pretty cool. They stressed to me how important I am to their recruiting class."

Youngblood currently has offers from Arkansas State, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, and University of Alabama Birmingham. He also received a call from Illinois on Thursday afternoon.

Youngblood says he will definitely take a trip to Jonesboro in the future.

"Yes I plan on taking a visit to Arkansas State," Youngblood said. "I'm going to try to go up for a game. I'm hoping Arkansas State does well against Illinois this weekend."
