One Louisiana wide out is thinking a lot about the school that gave him his first offer.

Zachary athlete Dillon Beard picked up his first offer from Arkansas State, while Beard admits not knowing a lot about the Red Wolves Football program, he is hoping to change that in the future.

Beard, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound athlete, plays wide receiver and free safety for his high school team. Arkansas State apparently has offered him at wide out, according to the Louisiana athlete.

"I plan on taking a visit to Arkansas State," Beard told AStateNation.com. "I'm looking for a school with good facilities and a good environment."

Since receiving the Arkansas State offer, Beard has also received offers from Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Monroe, Southeast Louisiana and a couple of other smaller schools.

Red Wolf Passing Game Coordinator Grant Heard is recruiting Beard for ASU.

"Coach Heard is a cool guy," Beard said. "He is easy to talk to."

Dillon has been working hard during the summer to improve his skills at the wide receiver position.

"At wide receiver, I think I can go for the ball well and I also run my routes pretty good," Beard said. "I"m going to continue to work on running my routes this summer and working on getting separation off the line of scrimmage."

Dillon also is working on his defensive skills.

"On the defensive side of the ball, I'm going to work on my angles and work on my tackling fundamentals."
