ASU's Freeze recruiting the state of Arkansas

Arkansas State new Head Coach Hugh Freeze is putting a major emphasis on recruiting the Red Wolves home state.

One Arkansas athlete that has an offer and apparently interest in the Red Wolf program is Strong Arkansas athlete Kenneth Dixon.

Dixon confirmed with AStateNation.com that he definitely has interest in the RedWolves and plans on taking a trip to Jonesboro in the near future.

"I'm trying to get up there this summer," Dixon said. "If not I will definitely go up there for a game this fall."

Veteran Red Wolf Coach David Gunn, ASU's running back coach recruits Arkansas and is recruiting Dixon.

"Coach Gunn is telling me it's a good place to play at," Dixon said. "He is telling me that I'm one of the guys that they want on their team."

Dixon, a 5-foot-11, 205-pound athlete, plays running back for his high school team. He currently has offers from Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Missouri State and ULM.

Dixon is apparently impressed with his recruiting coach for Arkansas State.

"Coach Gunn is a real good coach," Dixon said. "I like him a lot."

Dixon is currently ranked a two star prospect by Scout.com.
